This is my next brew. I would like some comments on it as this is my first stout. I will be doing this in biab so that is reason for the larger grain bill. Last biab I hit 75% eff. so hoping for the same as this is what I have calculated. I am looking for a good nutty coffee sweeter stout that is heavy and great to sit around a fire during the cold months. advice is appreciated :)

just wondering if anyone has some incite on this recipe. any subsitutions or what not, if not i'm brewing soon :):ban:

I think the whole pound of chocolate malt AND 3/4 pound of might be a bit much. I'd scale back the choc malt to 10 ounces but that's just me. Also, what is the batch size?

Sorry guys. When it got moved I lost the rest of my info

Be forwarned. I made a milk stout that had an OG of 1.074 and FG of 1.026. I added a lb of lactose to a 5 gallon batch. It was too thick and sweet and I didn't much care for it. If you want to brew a bigger stout, I would recommend mashing high instead of adding lactose. Though if you fully expect to get that low a FG, you might be fine.
