I thought I saw this question posted before, but I couldn't find it.

So since its a rainy day, I would like to brew beer, (lager and an ale) however if I started today, I wouldn't be able to move to secondary for about 2 weeks. Is this ok? Will any bad flavors develop in the beer?

Also, is this ok with a lager? I plan to lager it after 2 weeks in primary.

Thanks for the help!

Many of us leave our beers in the primary for 4 to 6 weeks. I've gone up to 3 months and the beer was fantastic but pushing it a little. I actually believe that only 2 weeks in the primary is cutting it too short.

It've had been far more luck using my hydrometer to know when to move to secondary. I think the yeast don't like our calendar system. Two weeks seems a bit short though to me too.
