I brewed a big IPA last weekend and while fermentation is going. There is almost no krausen. Odd really the yeast is White Labs wlp029 Kolsch yeast and the IBU's according to Beersmith is 146. This is my first really hoppy beer and I have never made a beer that didn't have krausen during the vigorous stage of fermentation.

I brewed an IIPA with some s-05 a while back and it blew out for about 2 straight days. I don't think IBU's would have as much to do with krausen as healthy yeast/yeast conditions would.
