I am new to brewing and would like to find out which brand will make a good Hefeweizen? I know that this is probally not the best way, but I am new to brewing and would like to start simple . thanks

My favorite beer is Paulaners Hefeweizen , I would like to make something alone that type of beer. thanks

.75 oz hallertau @ 60 min
.25 oz hallertau @ 10 min
7 lbs of wheat DME (or 7.x lbs of WLME) @ 10 minutes

Wyeast 3068 Weinheinstephan Hefe

Keep in a primary for 7-14 days, then bottle/keg.

The secret is not the (wheat) malt, but the yeast.

I brew weizens a lot. I'd recommend no more than 6 lbs DME, 1 oz of Hallertau, Spalt or Tettnanger whole hops at about 4,2%AA in the boil and no other hop additions, as well as no Irish Moss.;)
