Hi all

Having been AG in small batches (1gal) for a while I felt the need to step up a bit. I am now completing my 28 litre electric BIAB setup.

I recently completed a chiller for it In doing so I decided to make one for my mate as well (using a 20l pot).

They both incorporate 15meters of copper coil.

The tall one cools 25l from boiling to 26degC in just on 15 minutes, while the other one cools 20l from boiling to 26C in around 12 minutes.

Works for me, but was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for improvements as I'm making a few more for sale to friends.

Total cost was around US$50 for materials

Pretty good bang for the buck! If you were doing larger brews, I would recommend a counter flow chiller or a plate chiller, but the cooling times are pretty good and for the batch size, I don't think that spending more money would be worth the investment.
