So ive never made a Porter. I've done some research on here as well as looking at nb.com and mws.com's porter kits and have taken cues from them as well as Jamil. The style im aiming for is a Baltic Porter.

5 gal batch

89% 9.0 lb light dme
4% Black Patent
4% Chocolate Malt
4% Crystal 80 or 120

.25 oz German Magnum for bittering (yes, i know its not 'traditional' hops but you dont really get any hop flavor with this style, right?)

Safale us04 yeast
Probably ferment in the low 60's

Now first question, how does this look to yall? I know its similar to all the recipes ive looked at but i just want some opinions. Also, we'd like to add coffee to it. Not sure how we're going to do that, maybe just add fresh ground beans (french?) into secondary. Soooo yeah, let me know if you'd make any changes! (please, nothing like, 'add vanilla, screw coffee' lol)

Thanks!!!:cross:

Consider a couple espresso shots to the secondary. You don't need much.

Other than that recipe looks good, consider something like willamette for a 15-10 minute addition.

Also, I like wlp001 better for a porter, just my opinion though.
