I wouldn't pay the $2/oz wet but I'd tell him the "enough for a 5 gallon batch" is 2 pounds wet for an IPA.

Yeah I don't know what these people on craigslist figure. I saw someone locally have u-pick hops for $25 a pound. Oh sure I'll pick hops of an unkown AA %, spend time drying them and all only to get a few oz's...

I think some folks grow it ornamentally and have no idea that the current home brew pricing is based on dry weight and/or have no idea that they dry to 1/8th the weight.

he's a really cool guy, just got out of brewing after 18yrs or so. i stopped by the other day and he gave me a big old bag of them we picked off the vine.
