Wine Ingredient Kit

What would be a good kit to buy to have some wine ready for gifts in December? $70 to $100.
Looking for a little residual sweetness, Not Dry, No Oak, Not Welches. Something nice I can have ready in 6 months. Does not matter if its white, red, or purple. Any suggestions

6 months is pushing it, but a merlot kit might be drinkable in that amount of time.

Wine Expert Vintners Reserve kits are low-dollar kits that make a fair wine.

I would stick to a white. In my opinion, they will taste better at 6 months than a red. Not to say that you couldn't do a red. I just think the results at 6 months would be better with a white. I usually prefer the kits that are a little above your price range. I guarantee you would have fantastic results with something like this:

Both of these kits will produce something equivalent to a $25 -$40 bottle of wine. The more juice that comes with the kit means less water used to dilute it down. Also, wine kits are heavy and expensive to ship. While Northern Brewer is an excellent company, you could probably find the same kit at a local shop for less money and not pay shipping.

I selected the Riesling and Gewurztraminer because I think both of those are fantastic as a sweeter wine.

I too would go with either a Wine Expert Vintner's Reserve or World Vineyard white - and, given your stated preference in style and age, maybe a Luna Bianca, Riesling, or a Liebfraumilch. Too bad you just missed the recent Northern Brewer 2 for 1 sale on these kits.
