Hey guys -

With all of the barelywines making it onto the shelves now, I've gotten around to trying a few of them. One of the ones I tried, Anchor's Old Foghorn, is just awful! It has an organic solvent smell/taste to it, which seems to fade after allowing the beer to breathe for 10 minutes or so.

Did I just get a bad batch?

I think it may be your batch. I have a few left from some I bought a few months ago, and I don't remember a solvent smell. I remember it being rather sweet with some kick from the hops and alcohol. Maybe it was stored too warm?

Tried the old Foghorn last night and I must say it was rather disappointing (ie. tasted like crap) compared to Bigfoot

I love their Steam though
