Thought I would share my homemade wort chiller. I know there are some folks using 1/4" tubing instead of 3/8" but I never really found any results as to how well the 1/4" cooled. I had a 50' roll of the 1/4" OD copper from a previous home improvement project so I figured why not give it a try before buying 3/8" tubing. I knew 50' of a single 1/4" coil might not flow enough water so I decided to do a dual 25' coil. Entire coil sits just below level of my wort for 5 gallons. Cooled 5.5 gallons from boil to 72 degrees in 14 minutes. Gently stirred every 4 or so minutes. I have cold tap water all year round (lucky me!) and this test had 52 degree winter tap water. I have the temp readings throughout if anyone is interested. Anyway just thought I would share as you dont see too many smaller OD chillers.
