so what is it really? can i or can't I use it? what's with the off flavors people are talking about and some say its ok for use after an initial boil...is that true? thanks

i just read the sticky...didn't know there was one for this exact question haha...sorry fellas...anyway, about that layer they're talking about in that sticky, do i do that before each boil? I mean, boil some water in it for 30mins or stick it in the oven for 10min at 350 each time?

Just 1 time, unless you scrub it off during cleaning.

I would boil for 1 hour. This will produce the oxidized layer, and it will let you determine what your boil off rate is.
