Just got done kegging some beer.
5 gal was infected, without a doubt. Tasted super cidery.
Other half so far tastes good.

Here is the deal, Been super busy and sorta forgot about 10gal batch that has sat in primary for 2 months.

Can leaveing a beer in primary for that long cause an infection?
Also, The 5 gal that was infected was one that blew the airlock off during fermentation.
So maybe that was part of the reason it was infected?

I know i should have secondaryed if i was going to age it that long.
Tell ya the truth...just ran out of time and forgot about it.

The batch that tastes fine was US-05
The batch that was infected was notty yeast.

Thanks for all your help.

Plenty of people have left beer in primary for 2 months, including me and that has nothing to do with infections.

It is always wise to clean up after something like a blown airlock happens, that could be the cause.

Ya i kinda wondered if after it blew the top off and sat there for a night or so if i might be open to something but now that SWMBO reminded me i had forgot this might happen.

Live and learn i guess.
Should have used the blow off tube :(
