Is the residue of hops in the bottom of the wort needed for fermentation?
I was thinking of cooling the wort then transferring it to my mash tun to let it all settle then open the valve and drain off the wort, leaving most of the sediment behind.
Any reason why I should not do this, im thinking it might give me a clearer beer.
or am I totally wrong?
