hey guys
havent brewed in a year.im going to attempt my first AG this sunday.i want to make a starter .i have some DME
which has been in a zip-lock in my basement for about a year.do you think i can use it for my starter?is it too old?

If it's been in an airtight/dry place, it's probably fine. If it's in a big hard clump, then I would say to get some fresh! I keep mine in a dark cool place and it seems fine for starters, and I have no idea how old it is exactly.
 
it'll keep for a very long time (years, i'd say) as long as it is tightly packed and in a cool, dry place.

+1 on the clump. if it's not clumpy you're gold.
