I have a pumpkin ale thats been the the primary for a week with US-04 that smells more like wine than beer. I've kept the temp around 65 with a swamp cooler and ice bottles...

Anyone see (smell) this with US-04...? Is it something that'll dissipate or...?
 
I am currently brewing up a batch of BM's OktoberFast ale and am using S-04. No weird smells here... It has been going for a week... I would take a sample and taste it if you are worried. If not, let it go for a few more weeks and see how it tastes then...
 
So are you pretty familiar with smelling beers out of the primary after one week? I mean, to me it's hard to get anything useful, it all smells like carbon dioxide and alcohol... so I really don't bother. Almost always turns out fine in the end.

If you've kept the temp down, with S-04, you probably don't have anything to worry about!
