Hello,

I'm new to the forum, so bear with the noob please. If I wanted to move up to a partial mash setup (from all extract) what would be the minimum equipment needed?

I have a small apartment so I cant have tons of stuff laying around getting in the way.

Thank you in advance for your help

This is easy. As long as you have a 4-5 gallon pot. You just need a 2nd one, probably 3-4 gallons and a 5gallon paint strainer bag.

After 2 years of extract brewing I did my first partial mash about a month ago to make an oatmeal stout. Way easier then I anticipated. Pretty much instead of steeping, just"mash" which is having a more specific target temp and holding for an hour. Easiest way to hold the temp is to just move the entire pot with the grains into an oven on its lowest setting (160-170F).

Definitely read the partial mash sticky it will calm your nerves and spell out every step.
