Maybe my senses have changed over the last year, but I remember this beer being considerably better than this. It's not bad, but last year I was pretty impressed - not this year. Anyone else make the comparison?

I didn't try last years, but I sure like this year's. I would like to try making something similar.

I make a rather delicious wheat, similar to this (but better), but mainly inspired by Saint Arnold's now discontinued Texas Wheat

(for 5 gallons)
4# base/pale malt
4# white wheat malt
4 oz. biscuit/victory
4 oz. flaked wheat
mash around 154
.75 oz. northern brewer at 45 min.
1 oz. liberty at 5 min.
kolsch yeast, ferment toward low end (wyeast 2565)

og - 1.044-ish (70% efficiency)
25 ibu

Yes, I have - mine wins! That, of course, is subjective, but my friends also agreed. I think it's that little bit of biscuit that kicks it up (though I think I like victory malt over biscuit in this beer, but last time i made it the shop only had biscuit). I also use whirfloc in the boil because i like this to be a "krystallweizen". I look forward to hearing about your results. Hope you enjoy!
