I joined this forum a while ago but this is my first post. I just haven't had much time until recently. I've been crafting my own alcoholic beverages for just a little over 2 years so I'm still very new to all of this and appreciate any comments and criticism.
Last November I started my first batch of apple cider and tonight I am having my first glass...it's taste is absolutely spectacular! However, it has a somewhat sour and unpleasant smell when you hold the glass up to your mouth to take a drink. Is that normal? I did cheat a little bit and used Fleischmann's bread yeast (only thing readily available at the time). Could that be the culprit? I do want to stress that it doesn't taste dough-y at all though!
