Filling Growlers

I'd like to use some growlers for this next batch I've got going. The is, how much headspace should I leave?

When I fill them at a tap I leave as little as possible so the brew stays carbonated as much as possible.

I always chill mine first in the freezer & fill it all the way.

I think he is talking about bottling in growlers, not filling from a keg. Bottling in a growler is a no-no, they cannot take the pressure.
