I was inspired to try making this after having a buddy's pumpkin porter. Well, pumpkins are not really in season so I decided to do it with sweet potatoes instead.

This is a pretty standard porter recipe from the brew shop with the sweet potatoes and spices added, of course. I omitted aroma hops so they wouldn't clash with the spices. I also went light on the spices because I did not want to over spice it. I plan to taste it when I rack to secondary and if more spice is needed I can throw a little more in if needed. The balance seemed alright when I tasted the wort.

I brewed this last night and it has been bubbling away all day today. I am pretty excited to see how this turns out. Please let me know what you guys think.
