Were there any simcoe rhizomes available this year? Anyone know if they will be next year? I know that the variety is pretty new, and I don't know how old commercial plants must be before they'll let them be propogated. Seems like eight years should be plenty. I'm tempted to write a few of the rhizome outlets to check availability next spring. Just wanted to check here first to see if anyone already had the down-low on this variety.

Not this year. Simcoe is still a proprietary hop owned by Hopunion and hasn't been released yet. You could contact them directly and ask if and when the rhizomes might be available.

I'm from MI, so I know all about unions.:drunk:

I'll do what you recommended and contact that organization. This info was just what I was looking for.
