I made this very light American Wheat to honor my Father on his Birthday, July 4.

Waino's American Wheat.

6 lbs. Colorado Malting Company 2-row
3 lbs. Pale Wheat Malt (Weyermann)
0.5 lb Rice Hulls
1.5 oz Hallertau hop pellets (3% AA) 60 min boil.
0.3 tsp Super Moss 15 min boil.
1.2 oz PH 5.2 Stabilizer mash 90 min
17 drops Defoamer 90 min.
1187 Ringwood yeast

OG 1.040 FG 1.010
ABV 3.92% 15 IBU
3.8 SRM
175 calories per pint

This was a very easy drinking American Wheat for summertime and for BMC loving friends. My neighbor couldn't believe a homebrew could be this clear and light colored. Very tasty with a high poundability factor.

Let me know if you would like more details.

Can I say, LAWNMOOWER!!!!

You will be satisfied with your original recipe, although snicks, sounds like you might enjoy that abit more.

I need to make one of these type of beers to impress friends and such, a good substitute for part of the 2-row would be corn/rice, its almost flavourless i hear ;)

i go 9# 2-row, enough vanguard bittering hops to hit 15-17 IBUs and a half oz of vanguard at 5 minutes left in the boil & ferment with bavarian lager yeast. it tastes like what bmc should taste like, is clear & beautiful, and CHEAP =D!

i don't get why the naysayers frown on brewing BMC type beers. homebrewed BMC has a much fresher, brighter light-beer taste than their mass-produced counterparts. makes the pro's beer taste dull IMO.
