I need about 25 bottles for a sparkling mead that I made that is ready to bottle sooner than I thought. I figured with New Years, I could just pillage some local dumpsters and acquire the required loot, but that did not work at all as planned. So, I have tried calling a few wine bars in the area, but most say that they primarily sell wine, not champagne. I would like to avoid buying empty champagne bottles from a store, but it is looking like I may have to. Anyone have any ideas or experiences that would help here?

Yes.. call catering companies and offer to come pick up empties from a wedding.

That and valentines day... another great champagne holiday.

Catering is a goto source.

To bad you werent near me as I could stand t give you enough for that! I did a few years ago as you stated and grabbed them at the dump(Transfer Station) after New Years.
