Well, thought i had a nice quart of wort produced from LDME to cool to make a starter. got in a rush to get it cooled so I could go to bed and now find myself taking another 30 minutes to get it done. THIS says it all.

Trust me, I didn't do this inebriated , but figured this was the most moderator friendly place to put it. I'm just bummed. :(

P.S. This was a gallon jug
 
Buy yourself a Erlenmeyer flask. You can basically go from boiling hot to ice cold and it won't break on you. Example
 
Iknow, I know... boro-silicate glass is the way to go, but when you find free glass gallon jugs up at the farm, ypu tend to use them for a lot of things. They were originally filled with a disinfectant for our milk parlor MANY years ago, so they've kind of come full circle.
