Hey everyone,

I'm in Scotland for the summer and can't brew! This forum is where I get my fix, looking at what you guys are brewing greedily. I've figured that since I can't brew, I might as well drink. So, on a recent trip to Glasgow I sampled a bunch of cask ales: Deuchar's IPA (awesome), Caledonian 80/-, and Bass. Furthermore, I bought a few bottles today: Greene King Export IPA, Well's Bombardier, Badger Fursty Ferret, Young's London Ale and Broughton Old Jock Ale. I'll be drinking some of these tonight and will post reviews...

Cheers guys. Keep brewing...

I'm jealous.

I feel ya! Im doing an internship here in Cincinnati, OH, so all my brew equipment had to stay back at home/school. Sucks, its been about 3 months, but ive also been passing the time here on HBT as well as reading Palmers book. Hopefully before long ill be brewing up some deliciousness!

Have fun in Scotland! :ban:

Just cracked the Greene King IPA.

It's a very nice russet, copper colour. Nice head on the pour, but it was pretty short lived. Great clarity.

Citrusy hops on the nose, as well as a nutty malt character.

The initial maltiness is overwhelmed by hops. Finish is tart, hoppy and refreshing. Carbonation is a tad high for my taste, but mouthfeel is full and slightly chewy.

Overall, not a bad brew. Pick it up if you can!
