Hi everyone,

I'm planning to bottle my first batch of beer in a week or so, and am planning to use a variety of bottles: flip-tops, brown glass, clear glass etc. Basically I'm interested in seeing the different results I may get with different types, and I already have the bottles. :)

On the flip-tops, I have a new package of gaskets. Should I plan to just soak the gaskets in star san, and put them on the bottles, or should I use something else to sanitize them? I've heard that boiling them is a bad idea. Any thoughts?

Should the wire/caps be sanitized too, or is that overkill? Thanks for the replies so far and thanks for the info regarding boiling. I thought that was a no-no with all types of caps...
