A couple of my buddies got me a kit for my wedding in the fall. The beer included was a Shiner Bock clone from AHS. I was a little worried since it comes with lager yeast and I had to ferment it at room temperature. The directions said to let it sit in the bottles for 4 weeks. Yesterday was just over two weeks, but I was getting impatient.
The beer tastes a little harsher (for lack of a better word) on your first sip, but other than that, it tastes like Shiner to me. I'm wondering if it won't mellow a bit after another two weeks.
Either way, I'm pretty happy with how it came out, I had an irrational worry that it was going to come out undrinkable.
