Bugs?

The birds are probably just perching on the lattice and crapping as they often do. Take a look at the underside of the leaves and see if any bugs are hiding under there.
small leaf holes is usually aphids or something of the sort.

I have the same problem, the only bugs I see are ants! Will ants chew up hop leaves? I have a Cascade, Chinook and Galena and only the Cascade gets eaten! Anyone else have this problem with choosy bugs???
never had an issue with ants doing any damage here in the midwest.
