I'm wondering about two things. First: when posting a song, do you check whether it has already appeared in the thread? Second: do you listen to the songs pasted by the predecessor? Mhm?
First: I do not check to see if a song has already been posted.
Second: I listen to some songs pasted by the predecessor (not all of them, though)

I try to think of new song instead of posting ones I have personally posted before, but sometime I just want to listen to the song that first comes to mind so I post it.

I don't listen to every song people post but I do listen to quite a few, it is a good way to hear new artists.

I don't check for prior postings, but I do try not reuse one that has been used recently, especially by me.

I have listened to a few of the songs when a YouTube link is included, but not often.

I definitely don't check if it's appeared in the thread but I try not to repost my songs unless I'm really, really into the song at the moment and just want reshare. Happens with a few of my all time favorites.

Admittedly, I think I mostly listen to other songs posted here when I already knew the song. I have learned about some new artists through here and I love that. But it's more of celebrating artists that I haven't listened to in a long time. This thread has definitely sent me down a rabbit hole of listening to Bowie or ELO or John Prine. I think it's equally valuable and important.

And regarding my own questions:
1. I check if the song I'm thinking about has appeared recently. When it was posted less than a 3 months ago, I gave up. When more than half a year has passed, I feel free.
2. I try to listen to the song I'm referring to, but I can't always do it.
