So I was washing some S04 yeast today and noticed it was a bit lumpier than most other yeast cakes that I've washed before... Its the first time I've washed S04 and I was wondering if this is a characteristic of this yeast or something else? It was washed from a Milk Stout that had some Lactose in it, so maybe it was that? Did I not stir my lactose enough or maybe that's what lactose does on it's own?
