Well for a few weeks now, I've been wondering whats been chewing on my hop leaves. Coming home late last night, I noticed the tiny silk strands and little buggers hanging out under the leaves. I did some research and it appears that I had spider mites. The best part was that I was able to identify 2 differernt species. So I got up this morning and made up a spray bottle of Palmolive and water and blasted the little suckers off. I got all the leaves and hopefully this will work out well. I only counted 5 on 3 different plants so I don't think the infestation was too widespread or anything but I wanted to get a handle on it before they damaged more leaves. I plan to do this for 7-10 days to break their life cycle and hopefully not damage the plants in the process. Anyone else have issues with them recently?
