So I made my yeast starter on Saturday, put it on stir plate for about 30 hours, and took it off to put into the fridge last night. Only thing is that the yeast seemed to settle in the bottom of the flask almost immediately (15-20 seconds). It was White Labs Dry English Ale Strain WLP007 which I know is highly flocculant, but this seemed rather fast. Also the yeast was about 3 weeks past its best by date. It smells normal and I bet everything is alright, but want some reassurance. I have a dry yeast packet just in case and plan on brewing today.

Completly normal for this strain...the cake will break into almost a powder and recoagulates as it gets stirred again....it cleans up very nicely...my 2nd favorite yeast
