I am brewing up an Imperial Stout this weekend and was thinking of using WLP028 Edinburgh. To me, the malt forward flavor and cleanness of it seems like a natural match. Has anyone tried this? I searched and couldn't find much.

Thanks.

Just as a follow up, in case anyone is watching, the WLP029 worked well. At my local club competition one of the tasters noted some "smokiness" which could only be attributable to the yeast. There are a couple things I will change in my process next time, and it still needs to age a little, but no worries about using the yeast for this style.

Porter,
thanks for following up. I've noted a similar smokiness in my brown ale recently brewed with wlp028 that wasn't there with wlp002 or wy1056.

I'm planning on using the cake for a Founder's Dirty Bastard clone.
