I did a search and could not find an answer. I bought a kit to do an amber bock but do not want to do it as a lager. I have a dry ale yeast (Nottingham) and would like to use it instead to do it as an ale. Does anyone see a problem with using it and how might it change the flavor profile, if any?

Check your yeast that came with the kit as well. Very often you will get a "lager" style kit that has an ale yeast because most people buying them cannot lager.
