Hey, I just made my first wash yesterday. Started with 5.05 gallons water @ 115 degrees F. Added 8.5 kg dextrose. Specific gravity was 1.110 at around 78 degrees F (does that seem high?). Pitched a lot of yeast... about a handful when the temp got down to about 70 degrees F, and added 1.2 pounds of flaked rye. Smells like a brewery in here.
