Went to the local supply store yesterday with a recipe, but they don't stock a whole lot of grains so he didn't have many of what I was looking for. I was hoping to brew mystic mead's honey red ale, I'll be ordering it from brewmasters warehouse in a couple days. He gave me one of his own recipes in which he had everything in stock for it. Here it is.

Irish red ale
7lb Briess 2 row pale malt
2lb Munich malt
1lb carapils
8oz toasted oats
4oz aromatic malt
4oz biscuit
3oz Briess chocolate

Hops
0.5 oz cascade @ 60 minutes
0.5oz kent goldings @ 60 minutes
0.35oz cascade @ 30 minutes
0.35oz kent goldings @ 30 minutes
0.35oz kent goldings @ 5 minutes
0.35oz cascade @ flame out
0.7 kent goldings @ flame out

WLP002 English ale yeast

60 minute boil, mash @ 154 for 60 minutes

What's your opinions on this recipe?

Seems like a good beer to me (not taking time to crunch numbers)... my only beef would be that it has Irish in the name and Cascade hops in it... so, that really isn't much of a complaint :)

Thanks! I'm gonna try it out soon. These grains are crushed, and I'm storing them in sealed containers. How long are they good for? I'd like to try out mystic mead's recipe first.
