Just tried my first "from scratch" recipe that I designed, a Porter. Wow. After a week of bottle conditioning at about 70-75 it is about 80 percent carbed and tastes great. Has a mouthfeel of Guinness/Young's Double Chocolate Stout with a strong chocolate taste followed by roasted coffee then finished with a slight taste of hop bitterness. It tasted so good I was surprised that I made it haha. By far the best batch I have made so far - I am not going to give these away to the friends :)

12 oz Simpsons Dark Crystal, 5 oz Simpsons Black, 5 oz Simpsons Chocolate, 7 lbs DME, 1.75 oz Progress Hops, 3 oz East Kent Goldings (finishing), Wyeast 1968.
