Once all the ingredients are boiled together and I add the wort to my glass carboy, how much water do I add into the carboy in addition to the wort to fill the carboy? After that is done, do I just drop in the yeast and let it do its thing, or once I drop the yeast in, do I mix it around a bit to spread it around?

Thanks!

Remember to cool your wort. Hot wort + yeast = dead yeast.

Are you following a recipe or kit?

Most recipes are for 5 gallons. The wort must be cooled down to below 80 degrees before the yeast is added. I guess you are using dry powdered yeast. I like to put the yeast in first with a trace amount of liquid so they can hydrate for a while. It helps them start quicker. You can just sprinkle it on top, also. The yeast does not need to be stirred.

Make sure the water has the chlorine removed.

Sprinkle yeast on top and let it do its magic.
