Attenuation difference between Wyeast 3278 and 3763???

Hi,

I recently brewed the following recipe: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/rasperries-dates-lambic-376640/.

Why does BeerSmith project an ABV% of 8.3% when using Roselare yeast, but only a 7.3% ABV% when using Lambic Blend yeast?

Both yeast types are described by Wyeast Laboratories as being super-attenuative...I'm confused

Beersmith must have them set different. I'm not sure what beersmith bases the "average attenuation" on, but you can adjust this yourself. Just double click on the yeast strain and you can adjust it based on what numbers you typically get with that particular yeast.
