I want to oxygenate, and not aerate my wort. At first I was thinking one of those little regulators for the disposable oxygen tanks, but I really dont like the idea of using disposable tanks.

I would really like a medical regulator because they aren't very expensive and they regulate the flow rate really easily. But I have read that you need a prescription to fill them, while my fater in law is a gynecologist in oregon, I live in texas and I really dont want to ask him for prescriptions to oxygen.

I found this tank on ebay for not too much money:

And this regulator:

Will those work well together? Is there any way I can stick a medical regulator on that tank?

Also, what size stone is best? My guess is .5 micron because its smallest?

Tank and regulator look fine. .5micron stone will work well too. Tank will last you years unless you are filling 7bbl fermentors. :)

FYI - The O2 setup should allow for the stone to be easily removed and boiled between batches. Simply rinsing and soaking in Starsan has not been enough in my experience.

Brew on!

That regulator looks like it has an integral flow meter attached. If so, it has everything you need. I use a 2 micron stone which works fine. You can't attach a medical regulator to that tank valve.
