Just a quick question...

Making some rootbeer with the kids, went to the local wine store and asked for champagne yeast, but when I got home I noticed it said wine yeast (Lalvin EC-1118).

Will this work? or does it have to be champagne yeast to create bubbles?

Thanks

Awesome... last time I bought it, it said champagne on the front in large letters, so just wanted to make certain before I made 5 gallons of root beer with the wrong stuff. :D

I think the brand Red Star says "Champagne yeast" while the Lalvin says "EC-1118" but they are both champagne yeast and can be used interchangeably.
