Another effiency question....

I took 10.5 lbs of 2 row...1 lb crystal 60...9oz munich 10...1/2 lb rice husks

And got 1.068 FG for 5 2/3 gal....
I was expecting 1.056 for 6 gal...80% overall eff.

So can anyone figure out my effiency...?

Steam injection...power stiring seems to be working...on my 5 gal MLT ...HLT

I get 75%, assuming you have five gallons. 85% for 5.5.

It's 87% with 5.7 gal. You could top off with watter for 6 gallons if you wanted.

Thanks...I threw it in a 6 1/2 gal bucket in case of a blow up...
This was my 20th ...5 gal batch...3rd A.G....Not a bad 4 1/2 hours... :mug:

I ran an extra gal of water thru the MLT...The gravity was very close to 1.00 but it still had color...

But if you oversparge, you are extracting unfavorable tannins from the wort.

I didn't use it...I just wanted to see if there was any sugar left..
