i currently brew using Mr. Beer boster kits, but i feel that i'd like to take it to the next step....Extracts correct? and my birthday is comming up and my wife is plannin on spending a little money on new brewing equip for me.

I was looking at a 5 gallon glass carboy and the conicle S/S fermentors, but were i work i can have on made for me for a fraction of the cost. But, should i go through the trouble? is it really any better fermenting in the conicle vs. the glass carboy?

Glass is heavy and fragile. I never use glass carboys. A plastic bucket is more than adequate for me.

If you have the desire, money, and space for a conical, go for it.
