I was looking at a recipe and trying to figure out what this is saying. Could someone help?

Mash In - Add 11.25qt of water at 165.9 F Step Temp-154 F Step Time-60min

Mash Out - Add 6.3qt of water at 196.6 F Step Temp-168 F Step Time-10min

Thanks

This is an all grain recipe that is telling you to add the grain to 11.25 quarts of water. The water is originally heated to 165.9°F. When you add it to the grain, the mash will drop down to 154°F. Hold it there for 60 minutes.

After 60 minutes, add 6.3 quarts of water. The water should be 196.6°F. This will bring the temp of the mash up to 168°F. Hold it there for 10 minutes.

Then you drain off the liquid and start sparging.
