Hydrometer question

My hydrometer broke and I couldn't take a measurement before going into the fermenter. I did keep some wort to measure later. My question is, it has been 4 days since I brewed and was wondering if my gravity in my sample would have changed since then? When I get home I will check it out.

If you had the sample in the fridge, it's probably still useful for a measurement (I doubt anything would have gotten into it and started eating away at the sugars just yet.)
