Upon reading an article about Germans mixing their cider with lemon lime soda I was struck by a simple question. Could I use a soda with all natural ingredients to help in carbonating my cider. Does anyone know if I can add the soda during bottling after fermentation to try and use the sugars to carbonate? This is my first time brewing cider and I am just trying to find ways to simplify the process.

I don't think it would work. Once you open a soda and close it again it will start to lose carbonation. I think mixing it at time of drinking would be best option for that.

Hi

Cider is pretty easy to self carbonate. I've done it many times. Never on purpose. Tastes good though...
