Hello,
I just started brewing about a month and a half ago and already I enjoy the hell out of it. I started with a extract/specialty grains brew [Fat Tire Amber Ale Clone] that came out great... good enough my neighbor isn't being such a **** anymore at least when he got a six pack.

I did a second extract/grain brew [Centennial Blonde Ale] that is fermenting now. So what I was wondering is does anyone have a really great but a little bit more difficult beer recipe that I could get into?

I went to the LHBS and asked them but I came away so confused by the owner that I came home and made Apfelwein just to make something that seemed simple enough.

I already freaking love Apfelwein btw.

Thanks for the help,
Pete

Maybe you could try a lager if you have temperature control capabilities. Pick a new hop you've never tried and throw it in. Or trying playing around with different types, quantities, and times of additions of hops. Buy some brewing software program and play with that.
If you are ready and have the equipment, go BIAB or all grain and really play with different things.
When I went all grain, I started by doing all the DIY projects listed on this site. That really got me to understand how things worked.
Take a Saturday morning and use the search function on this site. Just type an idea and voila, you will have hours of research before your eyes.
One of my favorite things to do is find a local bar with a good selection and try a different style. Then hit the search function again and see what pops up. Guarenteed you will find a recipe that looks good.
Thats the neat thing about this hobby. You can always do something new if you want.:rockin:
And read my sig! This is a documented statement in my house!
Enjoy the hobby!:mug:

Buy Jamil's Brewing Classic Styles and start at the front and brew your way to the back. You will have brewed an award winning recipe in all 80 subcategories of beer styles.

Heres a copy of Troegs Nugget Nectar extract recipe from BYO magazine. I might have changed a few things but I dont remember. Just remember to be patient and let it age. This is not ready in 6 weeks. More like 2-3 months, but it is good. You could taste the changes week to week.
