Despite St. Louis's reputation as a beer city I am not fond of Anheuser-Busch products. I used to drink them all the time and never thought beer could taste good. Then I became a beer snob and the rest is history. My name on here refers to the Belgian city where my great-grandfather was born. Another of my great-grandfathers made his own beer during Prohibition and was good enough at it that others asked him to make them beer. I don't know how good the stuff tasted but at that time you couldn't be too picky. I tell people that I am German and French-Belgian and therefore I am genetically required to not only love beer, but to make my own.
