My favorite session beer is Redhook ESB. I previously brewed a clone. 16 brews later for Redhook ESB II I substituted the Pale Ale malt and Amber LME with Munich. It's a pseudo-SMaSH.

Recipe Type: Partial Mash
Style: ESB
Yeast: Pacific Ale WLP041
Batch Size (Gallons): 5
Original Gravity: 1.061 calculated
Final Gravity: 1.020 predicted
SRM: 13.33 calculated
IBU: 28.1 calculated
ABV: 5.31 calculated
Primary Fermentation (# of Days & Temp): 14 days @ 68F
Bottle conditioned: 21 days
First taste 18 April 2015

45 minutes steep at 155F
2 lb 8 oz Munich (Briess Organic)
13 oz Crystal 60L (Briess Organic)

60 minute boil
6 lbs Munich Malt Syrup (Northern Brewer)
2.0 oz Tettnang, US (60 min)
0.5 oz Willamette (15 min)
1.0 oz Tettnang, US (5 min)

The Willamette and 8 ounces of 60L were leftovers. My Macon HBS/growler store moved all the ingredients to Warner Robins, so not local enough. Because I wasn't using organic LME, I was planning to use the in state Brewmasters Warehouse, but they seem to be imploding. Because they sell malts by the ounce, I set up a cart at Adventures In Homebrewing. Brew Brothers was out of Tettnang. I ended back with Northern Brewer because even at full pounds their cart was cheaper.
