I couldnt help but try and get a lil crafty on my second brew, since my first one has so far been goin great through the stages. I think the beauty in beer lies in the complexity of its flavors and aromas. So I wanted to see what I could bring to the game so to speak... with a extract kit lol

I went with the dark horse, one that I have always seen discussed but I am not sure that anyone has ever tried.

Stopped by my natural food store today and picked up 1oz of Raw Hemp seeds. Went home and gave them a nice lil toast at 250 F untill they were golden brown. Hemp seeds raw dont have much of a smell or flavor, but once they are toasted they got a heavy scent of fresh peanut butter cookies.

So here is the recipe I used... Not sure how these flavors will blend but I am excited to see.

Toasted Belgian:

Steeping Grains- remove at 170 F and 30 min
4oz Caramunich
4oz Special B
8oz Carapils

Malt Extracts / Additions:
7lb Pilsner Extract
8oz Corn Sugar

Hops / Hemp seed:
1oz Hallertau @ 60 min
1oz Toasted Hemp Seeds @ 10min
1oz Hallertau @ 1min

Not sure if I added them at the right time or what, but I am sure I will get beer. The wort tasted good all the way through.
